Gallery Weekend - Berlin

Just returned from the inspiring Gallery Weekend in Berlin with visits to galleries and artists' studios.

Contemporary Art is full of surprises: I found Martin Eder's perfectly executed paintings - amazing technique finished like an old Dutch Master - but with very modern themes: portraits of fictional characters seemingly right out of "Games of Thrones" or World of Warcraft and other computer games. They are not to everybody's taste but no one can deny the admirable art and virtuosity of the painter. Doesn't she look like a female Brad Pitt?

The  Boros bunker private collection is always worth a visit. The stark concrete walls display contemporary works with the feeling of being in a war zone.

Art to eat:

And after all those tiresome visits  - a typical Berlin party is on a construction site!
