Melbourne has a Royal Botanic Garden in the city, a parkland area with a large variety of trees and lawns for recreation. It merits a visit, not least because of its Shrine of Remembrance, which is a memorial to all Australians who have served in war, and which lies in the middle of the garden. Its terrace on the first floor offers a perfect view of the city.
